Spring Projects in the Middle East

Photographer Nick Merrick and Assistant Cliff Shapiro's first trip to Kuwait in February was for Gensler and PACE. Both Nick and Cliff found the people watching to be extremely fascinating as well as the beautiful retail architecture at Avenues Phase III.

You can see Nick's photographs on the Gensler website: http://www.gensler.com/#projects/309. Also, more photos are featured in the Gensler issue Dialogue 23. Check out the PDF form of the issue at http://www.gensler.com/#viewpoint/features/71 found on pages 9 - 12.

Nick and Assistant Cliff just returned from their most recent assignment, which consisted of a range of projects for PACE Kuwait. PACE is one of Kuwait's largest Kuwaiti owned  architecture and engineering practices. This shoot involved photographing numerous road and bridge projects, and the unique experience of working in the desert.

Part of this unique week was also photographing the beautiful Arab Organization for Economic Development designed by PACE in 1989. Nick was amazed by the pristine modernist building with interiors that were overlaid by Arab decorative motif.
